Clear aligner therapy refers to a series of clear dental appliances that are formed to the shape of a patient’s teeth. Clear aligners gradually improve appearance and function by applying gentle, consistent pressure to a patient’s teeth, which stimulates osteoclastic & osteoblastic activity.
Clear aligners are popular because they can do a lot of the things traditional orthodontics can do, more discreetly and conveniently.
Many tooth movements are possible with clear aligners, and most types of malocclusion can be improved with clear aligner therapy. However, some cases are still better-suited for traditional braces, or a combination of techniques.
If you’re a good candidate for clear aligners, Dr. Bocklet will take photos and x-rays, and impressions to capture the shape of your teeth, and submit your prescription to ClearCorrect.
- Wear your aligners
Clear Correct will make a series of aligners customized to apply pressure to the teeth that you want to move.
- Dr. Bocklet will check your progress periodically and give you new sets of aligners.
You’ll wear the aligners for at least 22 hours per day, progressing through each step until your treatment is done.
